Pay gap between men and women: MEPs call for binding measures to close it

MEPs have passed a non-legislative resolution arguing that pay differences between men and women will not be addressed without legislation supervising the further updating and enforcement of equal pay laws within individual Member States. The MEPs' proposals include mandatory pay audits for large listed companies and possible EU sanctions for non-compliance, such as financial penalties or exclusion from EU budget-funded public procurement.
