MEPs approve boost to workers' rights in the gig economy

Minimum rights for workers with on-demand, voucher-based or platform jobs have been approved by the European Parliament. The new rules require increased transparency on employment contracts, better protection for new forms of employment, stricter time limits on probationary periods and the provision of free mandatory training.
