Mon, 22 Oct 2018

Approximately 8,000 female employers of Glasgow City Council are to go on strike on the 23 and 24 October 2018 over their employer's failure to settle a long running pay dispute. The Council was refused leave to appeal a 2017 ruling in January 2018 but an offer has not yet been made to the claimants. The dispute surrounded the introduction of a new pay and grading system in 2006 with was aimed at ending gender pay inequality.
