Rise in whistleblowing claims following EAT ruling

Figures released by the Ministry of Justice on 3 May 2018 show that whistleblowing claims against directors rose by 30% over the last 12 months. In the second quarter of 2017, following the ruling in International Petroleum Ltd v Osipov which established that claims could be brought against individual employees, such claims rose 44%, from 372 to 538 compared with the corresponding period for 2016.
