Asda loses equal pay challenge at EAT

Asda is to face more than 10,000 equal pay claims after it failed to stop the actions at the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT). The EAT ruled that shop employees, mainly women, can compare themselves to distribution centre employees, who are mainly male. In October 2016 the Employment Tribunal had agreed with the claimants that both sets of workers were employed by Asda and that the pay of all was controlled by the executive board.
