Uber could face more legal claims from drivers

Following a ruling by the London Central Employment Tribunal, which held that drivers engaged by transportation network Uber fall within the legal definition of "worker" under the Employment Rights Act 1996 s.230(3)(b) and should therefore benefit from the minimum wage, holiday pay and sick pay, lawyers are preparing for new legal claims from taxi drivers who believe they have been wrongly classed as self-employed and are owed backdated holiday pay and wages.
