Employment – Trade union subscriptions - Provisions in salary policy of Department of Work and Pensions regarding deduction of employees' subscriptions at source and payment of those subscriptions recognised trade union - Whether imposing contractual obligation on government. HELD that there was a contractual obligation and the arrangements were not terminable by the secretary of state on reasonable notice and could be enforced in England and Wales by the trade union under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
